1. Who we are and acceptance
This website and Bracara Studio are provided by Bracara Photonics, a spinout of INL being incorporated; until then, by Diogo Aguiam, Avenida Mestre José Veiga s/n, 4715-330 Braga, Portugal. By using this website or Bracara Studio you agree to these terms. If you use Bracara Studio for an organization, you confirm you may agree on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not use it.
2. The service
Bracara Studio is a web platform to design, simulate and optimize flat optics, export designs, and request fabricated devices. Anyone can create an account. The free plan has limits on design size and compute, which we may change. Paid plans, when available, are described in Bracara Studio, and their price and terms are shown before you buy. Features can change as the service develops.
3. Your account
Give accurate information and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think it has been used without your permission.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not break the law, or use Bracara Studio to harm others or to design devices for unlawful use.
- Do not try to get around limits, access other users' data, or disrupt the service.
- Do not copy, extract or reverse engineer the parts of Bracara Studio that are not open source.
5. Your designs
You keep the rights in your designs. You give us permission to store and process them to run Bracara Studio, and, if you order a device, to pass them to the fabrication facility to make it.
6. Fabricated devices
Orders are governed by the quote or order confirmation we send you, which sets price, delivery and the specification the device is made to, including any characterization you ask for. Fabrication has process tolerances, and results can differ from simulation within the stated specification. Nothing on this website is an offer to supply a device.
7. Open source and our own software
pyMOE is open source under the CeCILL-B licence, and that licence governs it. Bracara Studio, its fabrication constraints and this website's content belong to Bracara Photonics and its licensors, and you may use them only as these terms allow.
8. Availability and disclaimer
Bracara Studio is provided as is, without a guarantee that it is free of errors or always available. Simulation results are models and are not a guarantee of how a fabricated device performs. To the extent the law allows, we exclude warranties not stated in these terms.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit or data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Any cap on liability is TBD pending legal review.
10. Ending use
You can stop using Bracara Studio and ask us to close your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
11. Changes
We may update these terms and will tell Bracara Studio users by email about material changes. Using Bracara Studio after a change means you accept it.
12. Governing law
Portuguese law applies. The competent courts are TBD pending legal review. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the law of the country where you live.
